Rocky, Good article - as you say "How to suck eggs" for some, but interesting reading none the less. There are many sales people out there that should be made aware that their average "Joe Blow" customer has sweet Fanny Adam's knowledge of how/why/ or under what circumstances does all the "Magic" happen - when the Whizzbangery is fitted to their vehicles.

Sorry about this john but I view these SAFETY AIDS as crutches for poorly taught drivers. Governments in all states [and probably around the world] seem to have abandoned driver training to PRIVATE ENTERPRISE who we know are only interested in profit.The end result is what we now have which is drivers who are taught to pass the driving test BUT NOT HOW TO DRIVE. In Victoria the result of this is a reduction of speed limits in country areas just outside the urban fringe in the name of road safety. But no thought is given to the added cost of rural residents of travelling time , delivery costs and the impact on cost of living in these areas.

I agree with your comments. There is a very big difference between driving a vehicle and being able to handle a vehicle. Handling a vehicle part 1 would be having training and part 2 would be experience on the road in real life situations. This should be mandatory.

My only comment is to read past the first half of the article that is probably telling many on this forum 'how to suck eggs'.
The latter part of the article is very enlightening ... particularly if one owns a modern, 'electronic' vehicle.
