The wires on my new 160w portable panels that run from the pv to the reg are only about half a meter long, there that puny the wire itself only measures 1 lousy mil in diameter after the plastic is removed, normall this small cable run is short to the reg on the panel itself,I need to attach five meters of cable to this puny, tiny wire to get to the reg now positioned now positioned in the van ,the pv wire is far to small for an Anderson plug ,so Iam useing bullet connectors,to connect a short run of 1mm cable to 5mts of 3mm cable it just does not seem right, but to have a full 5meter run of that tiny cable would be crazy, why do they put that silly little wire there in the first place to save a few cents...

There should be a junction box on the panel that house the skinny wires where they attach to tabs coming out of the solar panel. The wires are normally soldered to the tabs, should be just a matter of un-soldering the skinny wires and re-soldering some new heavier wires. Just make sure you anchor the new cable to the junction box so they can't be pulled out.
