Fats Domino has died of natural causes, at 89 years of age
He would have been one of the first great singers of my era
At around 8 years of age, my older sister was playing some records In those days the gramophone had replaceable needles, which you sharpened on a matchbox
When she put a Fats Domino record on, I started dancing
Sister ran into the kitchen to mother
"Our Tony is dancing like a blackman" she shouted out in horror
RIP Fats I certainly enjoyed your singing

BG there were many parodies of Blueberry Hill - we as schoolboys used to shock the "oldies" - most of them pretty tame by today's standards (or lack thereof). Even old Fess Parker's Ballard "Davey Crocket" was murdered by us rebellious youth.

A fantastic artist. One of the originals that came from the blues circuit. The Blues had a baby & they called it Rock 'n Roll.
Blueberry Hill would be in my top 40 songs of all time. It was also a hit for the Aussie band The Loved Ones back in the swingin' 60's.
As with all great artists his music will live on forever. Gone to join that great band in Heaven.
