A few weeks ago the washing machine was squealing, and Friday would not spin!! Usually a bull at a gate person these days I have no energy to waste so up on Youtube I go. Youtube is great for these sorts of DIY jobs. It seems a new pump is in order BUT I wanted to test the "broken" one. A how to Youtube video had me up & running with removal of said pump. Made a lead with slide on connections to the pump. Boy it did squeal. Put some oil into the bearings and had almost a silent running motor BUT got quite warm and stopped, smelling electrical. Cooled down and did the same. Test completed and lead put away for further testing.
