Imagine the fragrance of a slow cooked casserole. Some fresh griddle bread to dip the gravy. I bet her four children get stuck into it, lucky them. Brings back the memories of early farm life, when no-one had anything much but we all survived and shared things about.

To be frank I was thinking more of the game we used to get on the farm years ago. Rabbit and so on. Nostalgia. You don't get many stories about that and it is still common in country areas. I just grabbed an interesting story in a country newspaper. You don't get many that tell it like it is.
I wasn't intending anything cultural, either way. As a typical bloke, it is about the food. . However I have heard the lady interviewed though and she sounds like and comes across as any of us, but then she was born and raised here I guess.
There were too many, all unnecessary, set-up gun photos and the blokes too. I don't know what that silly padding was all about, just the media I suppose. Sorry about that. They could have wiped that out and showed some finished recipes on the table. There I go drooling about tasty camp-cooked meats again

You'll NEVER beat a bunny or two. With wire through them cooking full on. No Skinning or gutting. Just as he falls over. Just burn it. peel off the crust and chew. Run finger down the middle first,if that way inclined.
BEST meat a man can get. Anywhere. a delicacy all to itself. Or peel off skin and 1\4 it into a pot of veggies.
Nick skin at rear of neck on top. Hold head. finger or 2 in slit.
Pull apart. Bunny Scun? in 1\2 a second.
I miss my Bunny's. Chuck is cr-p.

That first pic of the lady standing beside the Yamaha quad is a bit of a give away.....holding a 7.62 (.308) semi auto magazine rifle.
As I understand it, without a VERY valid reason, a highly illegal firearm in NSW.
My mate shoots deer on a daily basis, mostly for dog food as they are a serious threat to their grazing country.
Me?....well I do get plenty of back straps to grill....

Just commenting on rabbits, it would only take an air rifle for grey nomads to get fresh meat. Pellets are cheap. Maybe one day in a more sensible world the old 'Daisy' might be exempted from the expensive licensing and catch-all other requirements and fresh 'underground mutton' will be available. Nice slow cooked with veggies and a dash of red, some for the cook and onlookers.
