Not the Discovery 4 from 2013 onwards that I am aware of. Ever since the Indians took them over from BMW and Ford they have been nothing but reliable. They put money into the brand and did not shirk on quality. In guess thats why they are so dear in the 1st place! I bought the Toyota as the back up vehicle for my Disco 4 2016, but it has been more unreliable and with 3 recalls in the 9 months I have owned it! And expensive to run and service. Oh what a feeling!!!????!!!
That goes with nearly every vehicle manufacturer out there that used these air bags . Just reading the caption you would think Ford themselves have issues .

The RFS Brigade that I belonged to had a Land Rover discovery which was used as a crew changeover vehicle and it had a very unique gearbox and it spent almost as much time in the workshop as it did at our station, its role as an emergency services vehicle ceased prior to its second birthday.
I dont think there is a vehicle manufacturer out there who gets it right all of the time although the reports on the Pajero sport look good and to date no recalls yet.

Takata Corporation is an automotive parts company based in Japan. The company has production facilities on four continents, with its European headquarters located in Germany, where it also has nine production facilities.
Plenty of Land Rover recalls here, including airbag:

I do not recall any real problems with early Land Rover gear boxes apart from not surviving bad drivers.
Gday...
