I've watched grass grow (and listened to paint dry). Does that count?

went to a cricket match for a short time but had to go home to mow the grass which was growing much quicker than the run rate.

When we're camped way out in the bush by ourselves with not a soul around for around a week, bushwalking for 3 hours every day do we qualify for getting close to nature?
Try turning your computer off for a while or preferably go to an area in natural bushland with no reception & go for a long walk. You'll be surprised what's out there. The Aussie bush is a fantastic place.

Agree ... One solo walk that I did was along the lake at the water crossing on the south end of Cape Range NP near Exmouth. Just me ... blissful isolation .... until I found a bloody tourist Jet Boat moored at a sandy beach about a Km from the mouth. Fortunately not running that day.
I still have a couple of fragments of tinder dry scrub roots that I picked up. (probably shouldn't do that in NPs ... nor go for solo bush walks).
Took me back to my younger days when I would go solo with a large knife (or old WW2 .45 auto .. & sometimes my pig dog) chasing wild pigs.
Never watched a flower grow though.

Sitting back at night looking up at a cloudless sky that is not disturbed by city lights is my idea of a beautiful scene. White Cliffs was the best night sky I've even seen. So many stars, stunning blue sky, and it's so light you can almost read by the light.
Gday...
Cheers - John
