has anyone been along this road with a caravan? If so, what is the road like? Thanks.

Hi
I went that way a few months ago.
It's a typical country road.
Narrow, winding, patched alot, frequented by local trucks, lot's of blind corners,
sharp edges(if you have to drop a wheel!), very picturesque.. but not for the driver.
I would not take my van along that road, I'd rather make the time and go the long way around.
But it could be fun, if you like wrestling with your rig for a couple of hours?
cheers
John

I stopped at Woodenbong late last year. I have driven the road without a van and there is no way I would take my van on it.
The road down through Urbanville to the Bruxner is also woeful. I would take the longer route.

Hi Rocket.
Woodenbong to Warwick.
It not the worst road in the 2 states but it is close to it.
Take your time and enjoy the drive. There is some interesting stuff to look at along this road, at one time a very important inter city Highway,
At legume, Killarney, Queen Mary Falls, Brown Falls, there is others. So the road is a bit how you do, to me this is where you find interesting things to look at and some interesting camp spots.
Eg. There is one man auto matic sawmill, he built the mill mostly out of second hand bits and pieces. I have not seen it yet but will look for it next time that way.
We have towed our van there and we would do it again.

Went that way late last year going the other way, but we went via Tooloom Falls and Urbenville. We were towing a 24ft van, no problems at all. It is windy and goes up and down, but take it easy and it's a nice drive.

Where are you actually starting and finishing the journey? If you are at Woodenbong it's a very long way around any alternate route. I would not use the road from Woodenbong to Legume as part of a longer trip. However if I were at Woodenbong I would drive that stretch very slowly. A very slow trip would not damage the van but still be much quicker than going the long way round.
