Broome experienced its warmest August day in 22 years this week, twice.
The Kimberley town reached a top of 36.7 degrees on Monday afternoon, making it their hottest August day since 1995.
This feat was outdone today as the mercury climbed to 37.5 degrees early in the afternoon. This was seven above average for this time of year and once again the town's highest August temperature in 22 years.
Elsewhere in the Kimberley, Mandora (37.6C) had their hottest August day in 10 years today.
A heat trough and an unseasonably hot air mass lingering over northern WA are responsible for the near-record heat in Broome.
The highest temperature measured at the current Broome Airport site was 37.8 degrees in 1995. The old Post Office site, which closed in 1953, recorded a top of 38.1 degrees during on the final day of August in 1945, which is Broome's current record for the month.

It's got me, !!! What the heck is going on with the weather ???? This year, here in Perth, I've never felt so cold,
I have three blankets on the bed, but still wake up in the wee hours feeling like I'm living on the South Pole, !!!
Is it me, or do other People living in this great State, also feel the Winter chill. ???????
