Lay a popup toaster on its side & use it as a griller for your steak, never mind the dripping juices.
An electric jug is great for cooking 3 minute noodles in, don't worry about the residue.
Before someone blames backpackers, he assured us that it's not necessarily that group of travellers.
The best one was someone trying to cook bacon using an iron in the laundry.

The first two I havent tried. But I prefer my crisps flat not crinkled hence the iron.
