Welcome to the gang Gone Walkabout, enjoy here and out in the playground.
The main thing I would suggest is you make sure that ALL weights on the Tug and Den are within their plated weights. It is getting very important and the authorities will start booking people found to be over more and more. I have even heard of one or two getting put off the road and had to get things towed away at their expense, many $$$$ if that was to happen.
Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

Hi Walkabout, Welcome from me too. There are a number of free camps across the Nullarbor and from Penong across to Port Augusta and further on. If you've got time the coastal route around Eyre Peninsula is lovely. A lot of camping spots are $10 per night on that route and that gives you a toilet and space to park. Sign up to Wikicamps and/or buy the Camps 9 book. The Camps 9 book will show you where free camps are and Wikicamps will do that plus list caravan parks, places or interest etc. As it is winter, do you have heating if you are free camping? One tip - keep a bit of a stash of $1 coins as washing machines tend to mostly run on them and a few low value notes and coins for donation boxes etc. Also have a bit of a look further down on this forum under Free/Budget Camps for some ideas of places to stay. Also check what fresh foods you can take across borders. If you are putting stuff in to cardboard boxes don't use fruit boxes either. When going from SA to WA (don't know about the other way) these will be exchanged but it does mean emptying out yours to repack into the ones given to you in exchange. If you are getting to the check points and have fresh fruit and vegies cook it up and store in the fridge. We did this 2 years ago when going from SA to WA and had no problems. Anyway, others will probably come up with other ideas for you. Enjoy your trips. Cheers.

G'day Gone Walkabout and welcome to the forum. Don't forget to try the two ongoing games here - 'Who is This' in the 'I Digress' section and 'Pick this Place' in the 'General' Section - a great source to find new places to visit.
Had you considered contacting SuFil re their September open house - very friendly folks and a good chance to meet quite a few of the folks on here - see the Get togethers section for more details!

A warm welcome from me also Gone Walkabout
For the camps, the book Camps Australia Wide, currently book 9, and/or Wikicamps are both handy to have
