According to the Courier Mail 1st August 2017 Wyllie Park, Petrie, QLD is now Permanently closed to overnight campers due to scumbags wrecking it for everyone!
I suggest taking photos of these lowlifes, their vehicles and number plates and submitting them to the relevant authorities.
Why should responsible people be penalised because of a minority?

Far to many people are now homeless and looking for cheap stays and spoiling it for others

Now that takes the cake!
Blaming the homeless for the loss of free camps for the better off in society.
What a load of Boll***s!
I guess at least it's a different target to the back packers and locals!

Yes a bit tough blaming the homeless, there are no restrictions on being a low life scumbag, with or without money or a home!!
cheers

-from the article- (snip)"-and the use of petrol generators at night"
Not too many homeless NOR even whiz-bangers can be guilty of this

That's a good point Barrie - a sign of the times and we should not damn them, after all they are just as entitled as we are to make use of free/low cost camps....there but for the grace of god go I.
Good Luck.

Sorry Barrie,
but blaming those who are homeless is quite frankly pathetic.
I am certain there are a great number of the homeless living rough, but to make the comment, and I quote " Far to many people are now homeless and looking for cheap stays and spoiling it for others "lays the blame for the loss of free camps squarely at their feet, and no one else.
You say get out there and see for myself. Well we have been out there, and the homeless have been conspicuous by their absence from the rest areas and low cost camps we have stayed in. In fact most people we have seen at those places have units just like the one in your avatar. Based on our experience, I can assure you the silly comments in this thread have not come from Wanda or myself.
While the homeless may be part of the problem, they are not on their lonesome in creating this issue. For instance, they are not the ones I saw empty a toilet cassette on the ground at Baxter Rest Area, 50 metres from the dump point.
The problems are caused by many, including those who ignore signs banning camping, those who steal toilet paper, those who run generators when they shouldn't, those who leave rubbish everywhere, and those who treat the area as a toilet. And also those who travel with a sense of entitlement that they should have free or low cost places provided to stay at, or they will black ball your area.
So rather than blame just the homeless, who have little and can often not afford to stay anywhere other than a low cost camp, be thankful you are not in their position, and blame those who are really causing the issue. That is those who lack any sense of pride in their country, feel the world and Australia owe them, and in a lot of instances are just plain lazy pigs.
I am not against free or low cost camping, but it is time people realised that it is a privilege to have these sites provided for us, and up kept at someone else's expense, and we abuse it at our peril.

I whole heartedly agree.
