I regularly stay at Pyramid in Kennedy Dr , it is under the final approach to the airport , but I Don't find it
too noisy , even with my pop-top , heaps of oldies live there permanently , so can't be too bad.
In fact I will be there 9,10,11/8. Close to Everything , only 5min to supermarkets etc.

Just booked at Boyd's Bay. 4 nights for price of 3. Never stayed there before. Reviews appear very good. There are 3 deals at Boyd's. Mon-Thu for cost of 3, Fri-Sun special, and a 7 day deal. I am assuming if your stay starts on a Monday or Friday you can do the midweek & the weekend special back to back.

G'day Rusty,
We've stayed at Boyds Bay on a number of occasions (as well as other Tweed Coast group parks) - yes, there are 3 deals - BUT you CANNOT combine the Mon-Thu and Fri-Sun deals into one, it is not a valid combination - that's where the 7 day deal comes in, i.e. stay 7 pay 6. On the surface the combined price of the M-T and F-S deals is actually slightly less than the stay 7 pay 6 deal, however they will not allow that specific combination.
We usually go for two full weeks, so we get 2 free days within the fortnight. In fact we're going to Pottsville in just over two weeks time for 2 weeks.
Anyway, enjoy Boyds, we do - and there is a lot of things to do around the area - a great place to stay.
Regards, Brian
PS - aircraft noise is significantly lower than Big4 Billabong and Pyramid, as they are directly UNDER the flight path, Boyds is about 3/4 klm to the side of the flight path.

My plan to go north for my annual migration, including Boyds Bay, went pear shaped this afternoon. My optometrist rang this morning after an eye test yesterday didn't look good. At 2pm I was at an eye specialist and shortly after I was being driven to Geelong where I ended up having my right retina lasered back and an appointment next week to get more laser on my right eye and major surgery on my left eye. Not allowed to drive for at least 4 weeks. Both retinas pealing off like old paint.

RustD hi
Thats a bit of a set back to your plans, some people come though it with quick recovery, so heres hoping for you.
My wife had her surgery end of July 2016 and could not get her glasses to settle down after several attemps, back to the specialist, 2 more visits, now December 2016 and another operation in the back of eye, it was about May 2017 before she thought she could drive.
My point is most people you will talk to are very quick recovery, yet we kept asking why can't she see with both eyes at once and the answers we got was, yes I eyes are good, you can pilot a jet plane, drive a train or the nerves are slow healing, give it a little longer. We have since learnt that a lot of people have this experience of having a second operation.
In 4 weeks if you can not see comfortably, push the point strongly to check further.
Ps. One of my friends Brian has just turned 80ty had cataracts removed on Thursday and on Tuesday drove the 6ks to a group meeting and dose not have a need for glases, amazing. may I add to this about half of the fifteen 65 to 80 year olds guys there at the meeting have had operations on there eyes not one with a repetitive problem. Thats awesome news.
