Snow is forecast down to 100-200 metres above sea level in southern and eastern parts of the South Island and 400 metres in the North Island between now and Thursday. At times, snow may reach sea level in the South Island and could settle in some of the larger towns and cities. Snow accumulations of 20-30cm are likely on higher ground by the end of the week, although some mountains will see much higher totals, particularly in the Canterbury region.
Standout features during the next four days will include snow falling near sea level in the South Island during the next 48 hours, heavy snow accumulations reaching low levels on both the North and South Island this week, damaging gale force winds and heavy rain that may lead to flooding from Wednesday, and large waves that may cause coastal inundation..

"Yep" Gotta agree with you John, She's not to bad on this side of the Ditch, that is as long as you don't live in Canberra, or maybe South of Hobart at present., a wee bit on the fresh side in those places at this time of the year. LOL

I have just received these pictures from Christchurch in the South Island,
It's a bit on the cool side there with Snow down to ground level.........
Skiers love these conditions . It's the wet and cold I hate . Southerly wind and rain .. Chils to the bone !!

"Yep" you're not wrong about it being a bit on the cold side over there at the moment, there is even a report on heavy snow covering the hot springs in Hamner.
I've sent an email to Channel 7 complaining that there is no new of the Storm on Channel 9, and asking them to get "One up" on 9 by snowing some pictures of the snow, no reply as yet, it will be interesting to see the 7 evening news tonight.
