has any one driven this road lately? if so what are the road conditions like, thanks in anticipation of a reply.

This route comes up what seems to be every few weeks. If it's dry you can do it easily with care. If it's wet that grey clay is a motorists nightmare.
Apparently some of the property owners along the Darling River are fed up of ''free campers'' leaving rubbish behind.
Best undertaken in the drier months as they close the roads at the drop of a hat because they cut up badly after even a spit of rain.

G'day mate
Yes - we did it about 6 weeks back and overall it was okay. There was one stretch of 200m or so of soft bulldust that needed max revs to bash thru ... but it might have been fixed by now. Otherwise it's a pretty okay "outback dirt road" ... we've had better and also we've had worse
Hope this helps

Hi guys, just travelled to Tibooburra & into Bourke via Birdsville & Cameron's Corner. Dirt all the way, surprised how good the gravel roads have been. Only some soft dusty patches, but after recent rain the mud has turned into red bitumen, quite smooth if you pick your line. Some corrugations but only in short bursts. Weather:- very cold at nights but beautiful days. Did anyone photo the sun rise with the moon setting at the same time***** Gwynnie @ matildatraveller
