Hi everyone, I need to sort out some ventilation for the fridge compartment in our camper trailer. The compartment houses a 60L Engel Combi without too much air space left over, so it can get pretty warm. It has a vent of sorts with a pad filter, but no fan installed. However, if I installed a fan, I would also need to install another air inlet and dust filter. I haven't seen in compact, waterproof ventilation cowls suitable for fitment to the compartment doors. When not in use, it's getting some condensation build up on the roof of the compartment too, so I need to stop this happening or our stuff is going to rust pretty quickly. Perhaps a mini solar fan? How have others solved the ventilation issue?

Nada, that's why I posted a new thread... I cannot believe that that the campers I've seen todate don't address the ventilation issue.

I'm sure I'll find one for the exhaust vent, that fits my fitting. Just looking at the possibilities for the intake vent on the other side. There don't seem to be any ready made fittings so I might just have to make my own. Thinking of a lawnmower filter to help keep the dust out.

oztales, get some filter fibre from aquarium supplier - better than closed cell foam in mower filter.

In the end, and easy fix. I plundered the fan out of an old PC case and the holes lined up perfectly. Wired it to the 12V supply so that it comes on when the fridge is on. Then I cut inlet holes on the door on the opposite side and installed a vent with a filter inside. Just a PC fan dust filter which comes in a cartridge and is replaceable. The airflow now is pretty good. I measured the internal temp with the 60L Engel running and it stays 1deg above ambient. Happy with that!
