After topping the main tank the night before, we a are rolling again. The car running like a dream sipping 16.3- 16.7Lt per 100km.Today our destination being Frazer Range CP home stay a mere 609km away. We stop often to take a coffee/ tea break and check fuel costs to report back for those who are making the same journey. On this trip Caiguna claimed top price @$1.76 per Lt for diesel.
Balladonia on our return journey came in at $1.68 for diesel, Caiguna still at $1.76
We like Frazer range for its quite nights. Last year we were in the van and were free camping all the way. On this stop (early April) over, the Marsh flies were all over us till the sun went down.
Frazer range offers meals most of the year. From around June onwards a roast dinner + desert is on offer most of the time. BYO.
Day 6 was another 660km run to Leinster via Kalgoorlie. From Kalgoorlie ( fuel price in Kal is $1.27.9 with or $1.319 without, with our shopper dockets) we would take on only the fuel needed to take us to Geraldton the next fuel stop. The road north up through Menzies and across to Mt magnet is 95km longer. However it is well worth the extra drive. The roads ahead are first class.
Leinster is a town built and owned by BHP Billiton. It has a caravan park @$20 for a powered site and very hot showers. If you want a night off from cooking We recommend a walk down to the DRY Mess @$20 per head for all you can eat. Five rows of fine food/ desert/ coffee. Brekie is also offered @$15 in the mess. We gave this one a miss. We rate this eatery at 5 Stars. Buy your tickets at the Tavern. There is a 24hour fuel card servo. St Johns ambo service and fully stocked Grocery store to. The tavern has a motel opposite. This is our bed for the night with TV, coffee fridge and a good bed.
Day 7, The next leg is a shorty at 430km, with a refuelling stop along the way to Yalgoo CVP. They have five rammed earth units with A/C TV/ Satking, Fridge. The Pub looks ordinary, however the food is great.
Day 8 ,220km away lies the town of Geraldton, where we get the last cheap fuel @$1.249 again with shopper dockets before reaching Carnarvon some 650km for the day.
Day 9 , and we have 400km to Yardie Homestead CVP our home for the next 10 weeks. We leave early this day to reach Yardie around 10.30 am, as we have real work to do and it s 38 deg in the shade.

Well done Jim. Now for the fishing. We haven't stayed at Yardie for many years but a look-see last time we were up that way let us know it's a very different place to the rough stay it was in earlier times.
