OK when I bought my West Australian newspaper yesterday, I also received my free spinner, (Glad I didn't buy one for $5 in the reject shop the other day). Anyway being a kid in old blokes clothing I started spinning the bloody thing, and I think I am getting hooked. My best spins are 2 that lasted 1 minute 37 seconds, and my very best is 1 minute 43 seconds. My challenge is for all you bright clever grown ups to make it spin longer. Don't tell me I have lost the plot, everybody else tells me.

Just the act of buying a newspaper amazes me. Let alone getting a "spinner thing". As they say 'if you don't read the newspapers you are uninformed, and if you do read newspapers you are misinformed". Happy spinning but, more importantly, happy and safe travels. :)

OK, I thought I was in amongst a lot of happy travellers but alas, I will have to find a less technical subject to discuss.
My wife calls me a stirrer and I deny it. Question: Who is right?

Aussie, I don't think you have lost the plot, your post has me smiling happily, I don't have a spinner like you, however I know they are the latest rage. I think its great that you enjoy spinning it, I have an 1896 Schwechten piano and on it sits my childhood spinning top. When I'm dusting I pick the spinning top up and give that handle some good pushes up and down and love watching it spin and listening to that familiar whirring sound that it makes. Next to it sit my knucklebones I collected from lamb shanks and still play with them to, so good luck to you Aussie, enjoy. I'm so glad I have never lost the child within, and thats a fabulous feeling, if I get a spinner I'll let you know how long I can make it spin, get ready! lol I'm pretty good at making things spin.... With a huge smile Kisha.

Unfortunately, as an inveterate fiddler, my good wife bought me a cheap one as a joke.
I fiddle with it sometimes when sitting in my chair of an evening, and it is at least silent, unlike when I sit here clicking a biro!
So, having had the challenge set, after reading Aussies post, I made an attempt on the GNFSTR (Grey Nomad Forum Spinner Time Record), and had a lucky first spin, with obviously highly rated ball bearings, and achieved 2 minutes and 38 seconds.
So I will now retire the spinner (it broke anyway last night, dropping its balls), and cease my competition career on a one day high!
I will now resume clicking a pen and annoying my child bride!

2 minutes 38 seconds, I would like to see that. That is not only a WORLD record but, the best in the UNIVERSE.
Oh well, some people can do and some can't do. I am in the latter group.

G'Day,
The Granddaughter made it more difficult to do. Put 5 spinners one on top of the other hold finger on top one, then spin each one differently from the other.
What says I???? no 1 spins left. no.2 spins right. 3 spins left,It's not that hard grandad says she grinning hugely, as she demonstrates.
Can you spin them before stacking them says I? Challenge accepted, she got 3 going then it all fell apart. I'll have to go away for a holiday.
This is too stressful.

Your Di is a lucky lady to have a man in her life that can make her laugh everyday, I can say that to you because that is what I had once upon a time in my man, and now I have a laugh and smile at the gorgeous memories he left with me to enjoy. Your avatar makes me laugh every time I see it lol, very clever, I'm opening a bag of penny sticks now lol and later I'm going to tinkle the keys on my gorgeous antique Scwechten. Just thank your lucky stars your not around to hear me play lol...You guys have a great one to...Always with a smile Kisha.
