Mags and Spook here we have just planed a trip up north WA. Heading to Dongara, Monkey Mia, Carnarvon, Exmouth. We are then going to shoot over to Tom Price and spend a couple of days in the Karijini National Park. Then motor on to Newman for a quick stay. Heading south for an over night stay at Cue. From there to Mount Magnet and straight through to Geraldton. A couple of days stay in Geraldton and home to Perth. Has anyone got any ideas what to go and see. We are travelling in a Colorado ute.

Mags, are you into 4 wheel driving onto beaches for fishing, or metal detecting? If yes to either I can give you a couple of hints.
Cheers.

May I suggest you visit your local tourist bureau they should be able to help you . You are going to a lot of different towns and places all worth while and a lot to see and do .Also depends on your interest and how much time you have .Above all stay safe and enjoy

If you are heading up or down I O D to/from Gero you are most welcome to call in for a coffee or an overnighter. We are near Seabird.

Kennedy Ranges not to be missed if you are up that way, via Gascoyne Junction you could day trip from the GJ CP.
also plenty of overnight stays and some station stays in the north west worth checking out on Wikicamps if you like freer camping than CPs.

Is there some reason you're skipping Kalbarri? The coastline and gorges there are spectacular.
Make sure you do an overnight stop at Wooramel station...it's only about 1km off the main road.

Bush Tracker here Mag's husband. Probably fishing. I know a few things about sand. Tyre pressure is important, and ensure you have a good compressor to re inflate.

Bush Tracker here we have been to Kalbarri a few times so we thought we would give it a miss this time and travel through. You are right the gorges and coastline are spectacular.
Thank you for the thought.

I would suggest Green Head North camp area
It is south of Dongera, on the Indian Ocean Drive, about six kilometres before the main highway
The seaweed is smelly, the toilet is crappy, but you get to see the Dolphins in their own environment
