Has anyone been to Wallaman Falls recently? Due to the lack of rainfall in FNQ I was wondering if water was flowing through the waterfall at the moment.

Your beloved dog is the image of our dog, Jack. He is so special and great with our grandkids. He also loves coming camping with us.

Hi Rainy1850, yes they are great dogs. We will get another one some day. Safe travels and give Jack a pat from us.

For those who may be in the area .... On Dougwe's suggestion I just rang Ingham Info Centre and they assure me water is flowing over the waterfall. So a visit is planned shortly.

Gday...
This pic was taken on 22 October 2012 ... at the END of the dry season.
..... and this is Stoney Creek which feeds, and is the 'head' of,the falls - taken also 22 October 2012
I reckon it would have "good" water anytime of the year. I would LOVE to be there in February - when the wet is in full swing.
Cheers - John

Another spectacular Set of falls is 50 km. west of Kennedy called "Blencoe Falls."
Possibly higher than "Wallaman Falls" but in two drops.
Fairly substantial creek when we were there 20 years ago, lots of water going over.
Leave your van at Kennedy and drive up about 50 km. 4x4 in wet weather.
Full day trip to do it justice.
We took our van up, a small Golf, and had trouble turning around.
Camped a couple of nights and came down the same way.
Have fun Haji-Baba.

Hello everyone,
Even in a long period of drought, there is always water flowing over Wallaman Falls as it's fed by a spring that runs into Stoney Ck.
Providing the road is open, the most spectacular time to see the falls is in our 'wet" season - IF we get one again.
And for those considering going to Blencoe Falls, do not go there on a long weekend as the local yobbos take over & drive the narrow road as if they own it & they are the only users! It is a road that a lot of care is needed & is only suitable for small camper trailers! The upper section "maintained" by the Tablelands Council is rougher than the lower section.
July is the month where most of North & Far North Qld have their Show Days - some forming long weekends.
