Am looking at getting new tyres for BT 50 just wondering if anyone has any complaints about "Coopers" or Bridgestone

You have opened up the can of worms. you may as well asked what is the best tug!. I have had both on my previous vehicle for 4WDing purposes. Both AT type. Cooper are dearer in most cases, and although they say they guarantee them for a certain mileage, many 4WDers have found that somewhat lacking. My Coopers lasted 55K, the Bridgestone, 45K, and the BFs were still on the car at trade in with 65K on them, with probably about 5k left. I personally liked my BF Goodrich as the ATR was a bit more "aggresive" without the increase in noise. So it depends what you want them for, what the price is like, and what you can find from genuine users.... not abusers.

I had BFG a/t on a Prado and loved them. Never heard them, they gripped well, and after 70,000k still going strong.
I now have what is in my signature and I know two different tugs but have Cooper a/t3 on the Collie. After approx 30,000k signs of ware, road noise and from new don't think they grip as well as the BFG.
Will I have Cooper again? NO. BFG next time.

We've all got different chioces.
Nowadays there Aren't REALLY any bad ones.
They wouldn't sell.
Stay away from Coopers and any of the others Basically.
will do the job.
I've never been one to look for huge mileages.
When mine get down to around 3\4 wear, MAX.
They go. Normally around 45\50k.
I like tread under my wheels thank you.
And have more respect for my wife's like than my wallet.
The last 20\25% Does NOT grip like the prev. tread.
On ANY tyre.
Myself. I ALWAYS run 10pr tyres with Bridgestone on the sides.
BUT. That's just me.
There was an American Tyre imported here 20 ish yrs ago.
Left ALL the others on this market for dead.
But they soon took it off the market.
Too Good for the price methink's.

I also got 69k out of my tyres BFG on a Prado.I now have a pajero and just purchased pirrelli A/T s for a change from Yokohama A/ts that have just given me 72k .I like a quiet tyre and all of these were .Cheers.

Coopers, hard compound, long wearing, no grip on bitumen.
They have their fans particularly with the hard core 4x4 brigade.
Our diesel mechanic had them on his Triton & hated them.

I had a set of Coopers ATRs on a Prado. The tryes had done 70,000kms and still going when I sold it.
I have a set of Coopers ST Max which have done 80,000kms and will likely change them for AT3s at the end of the year. Dont go offroad so much now.
I think Bridgestone is a good tyre as an alternative but wouldnt expect to get the same kms as Coopers. Choice would depend on price and number of kms of travel over the next 6 years (tyre life).
I think good tyre life depends on not just a quality tyre but good wheel alignment and balance (including on the van) road/offroad conditions they are subjected to and care and maintenence such as rotation and tyre pressure.

Spoke to a bloke mending/replacing tyres for travellers at the Adels Grove (near Lawn Hill Qld) workshop and asked "what are the tyres you see most with damage or punctures?" His reply "Coopers, by far!" Best, in his opinion, "BF Goodrich". Guess what we have on the car and van?? Bob

Yea that depends on % of brand out there ! I'd say more Toyota's break down towing than Rolls Royce ? Lol Coopers possibly better on more heavy duty vehicle ?? If your just using them to drive ? Both would be good . Imo
