Lots of people don't realise that
YOUR life starts the day you retire from working.
UP TO that day.
your life belongs to somebody else.
YOU don't rule it. Even if you think you do.
YOU HAVE to be somewhere for somebody to do something.
In YOUR time.
to earn the money to finally own yourself.
Even when self employed you HAVE to do something to keep it going.
All you doing is saving up for that day.
The day you stop wearing your watch. and can't remember what day it is.
IS the day you're really retired.
I can't remember the month or year most of the time.
It's Great.
I retired at 49 yrs. and it took us till I was 75yrs to spend 97% of the money.
Just enuff left to cover us (in this country) now.

I retired at 60 but it took another 2 years for me to get used to the idea and probably 5 years to get to the point where I was fully retired and didn't think about work and now I seldom wear a watch and have to go and look at the wife's diary to find out what day it is and the date.
maybe one day in the near future I will be able to leave the mobile phone behind and not go back to get it, maybe even leave it turned off till I want to use it.

Absolutely true Macka. Been self employed past 20+ years and probably be better off financially if I worked for wages but my choice. Even spent 4 years running a 24/7 business taking phone calls at 2,3 or 4am. Worse when on holidays in eastern states with time difference. Not really holiday with phone always going off. But again, my choice.
Now looking forward to the day when I don't have to set the alarm for 4.43am.
1006 days and I am out of here........
