Got my new fridge last Thursday 400 litre Samsung $473 delivered and they remove the old fridge, took a week to arrive after ordering, COD, too easy.
Don't think much of the TV on offer as only the cheap TCL brand.
Cheers
David

In the interests of the environment shouldn't self funded retirees get the same deal - just a thought ?

Is this offer for you?
To receive this offer you must:
be a NSW resident
hold one of the following: own a fridge 6 years old, or older, and want to replace it
Pensioner Concession Card
Health Care Card or Low Income Health Care Card from Centrelink
Veterans' Affairs Gold Card
own a plasma or cathode ray tube (CRT) television and want to replace it
Commonwealth Seniors Health Card holders are not eligible for this offer.
MSG as you are probably aware the offer is being susidised by the NSW Government (& good on their initiative) the above conditions have been lifted from their website. No doubt the Good Guys would give me some sort of a discount but I would be very surprised if it came anyhere near matching this offer. I don't really need a fridge or a TV right now as I replaced them not that long ago I was just making the point that self funded retirees are often left out (and ex.Kiwis). Good on those who qualify for the offer but in my opinion it would be a little fairer if things like this were based on your level of income rather than how you come by it.
I have no idea why this text came out with a green background (that I can't remove) it was ok in draft but changed after it was posted ?

The problem is you don't get the run of the store to pick from. Some of those in our village that have looked into it say the selection range is not very salubrious. They all rejected the range.

Peter, I guess those who chose not to take the offer due to the limited range have probably decided they can afford to spend a little more in order to get what they want. I think that this offer was being directed more towards the people on low incomes who may not be able to afford to buy a new fridge or TV at the full price and are paying more for their power as a result. I know that we replaced our old fridge and freezer in the garage with an all in one unit and the pool pump with a variable speed unit and saved $150 on the equivalent power bill for the same period of the previous year.

Yes that's the message. The offer is not intended so you can swap some old equipment that you may have that is in the cheaper range when you purchased it for top line stuff. Those who want top line equipment will still have to pay full price for it.

Hey AK did you take out citizenship because if you did you shouldn't have any worries about getting pensions or discount cards or fun stuff like this offer ? if you haven't you are then relying on whatever agreement Australia has with the NZ government and as you have seen lately that status can change very quickly. I have a friend who moved to Australia from England with her family 60 odd years ago never thought it was necessary to become an Aussie. She got stopped when we were trying to board a flight to Norfolk Island at Sydney airport and told her visa to be in Australia didn't have enough time left on it for her to travel. In the end they reluctantly agreed to let her leave but when we got back home they were waiting for her at the gate, to her embarrasment they dragged her off to an interview room and told her that if she hadn't renewed her visa within a few days they would be deporting her. She had worked all her life here raised a family, had grand children, owned a number of properties and retired all that made zero difference to the immigration people - she quickly applied for her citizenship after that..

Yes so far it goes both ways across the Ditch . As you say it may change . Go overseas at least twice a year . No issues but doesn't mean I won't have !! Being an Aussie doesn't worry me .. BUT I will ALLWAYS support the All Blacks !! Lol
