This place has been mentioned back in 2013 by Herbie but a few things have changed. The cost is $3 per night for a powered concrete site and there is a beautiful salt water pool and amenities block. (I kid you not!)
There are new owners at the pub (which featured on Australian Story two years ago). There is now full mobile coverage and the pub cooks beautiful meals every night.
This place is freecamp heaven and I'm surprised there aren't more nomads coming to this place. Oh, I forgot to mention the tennis courts, croquet area and the golf course which is under construction.
Yaraka is 160 kms eastish of Blackall and today only 7 kms is still unsealed and even that is under construction.
If you make a donation to the RFDS, the pub owner will take you to the top of Mt Slocombe to see the sunset.
This is a town that takes RV friendly to the extreme.

Dianne,
You are so right. Yaraka is a wonderful spot for a stay and at $3 a night (or $15 a week) it has to be the cheapest full-facilities van park in OZ.
When I stayed there for a week, a couple of years ago, the only phone reception was halfway up Mt Slocombe as Telstra had reneged on installing a tower but I guess they've put one in now.
Some interesting things around Yaraka including a surveyed town that never happened, sunset views from Mt Slocombe, the weekly arrival of the flying doctor and rock opal found close by.
Pub owners/proprietors more than friendly and helpful.
A lovely place to visit and your visit is appreciated by all there.
Cheers,
Roy.

Do you mean west of Blackall? Google maps thinks it is.
