Gday...
When it comes to art ... it all depends on who likes it, who wants it, and who wants it bad enough ......
Remember Blue Poles and the controversy at the time ???
The controversial artwork was snapped up in 1973 with the approval of then-prime minister Gough Whitlam for a record amount of $1.3 million dollars.
"It's estimated for insurance purposes recently to be worth up to $350 million,"
I guess just because we don't "see" the "value" (and don't have a lazy few million $$ laying in our retirement fund to buy it ) we see it as outrageous.
Cheers - John

Could also be a little "money Laundering" going on there too.
You never know.
Same as this Labor gov't "loaning" Adani 1 bill of our money.
then giving him access to our materials.
so he can pay int back out of the profit he gets from such.
Then keeps on taking.
how Dumb. or completely idiotic are these so called "Intelligent" Politicians.
Don't they realise how much contempt their names will be held in. in a few decades.
when Australia realises how much of our future generations (kids) Mineral assets
they have given away.
We will be a third world country in a hundred or so yrs time.
After the dicks have given everything away for cents.
It's completely beyond Stupidity..
Everything below the ground belongs to Australians. Hopefully, For multiple generations to come.
Not somebody the idiotic politicians decide to give it to. Now.
For what?????.
Their name in the papers for a coupla days.
Back in box. I hate politicians. Specially Labor fools.

Think I'll change my name to something like Leonardo,
hop down the back shed and splash some paint on a hunk of cardboard, maybe run the 4x4 over it a couple of times,
then stick a picture of it on Gumtree or Ebay, ask some ridiculous figure on it, and see how it goes,
could be the start of a fabulous income, LOL

Sorry Macka but the loan was not via the Labor party, it was to come from the Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility (NAIF)
which is a federally funded body and that means the Liberal/National party coalition.
The Labor party said: "shadow resources and northern Australia minister Jason Clare said federal Labor does not support using taxpayer money to fund the rail line"
