I use stainless steel cable for all items to be locked up out side with a good quality padlock. I wrap the cable around the handle a few times of my generator if being used then around the Aframe or some other solid part of CV. Won't stop a real thief but slow them down a bit but stop the passer by.

Hi Brickies, I do similar to Dougwe. Security strap from handle to caravan wheel trim. In addition I wrap a chain around the Waico (end to end through the handles) with a padlock. And just for an "over kill" I have a sign on the lid stating "Warning security system active". Reason, grog is precious to me :)

A more serious issue if you have an Engel.
I use a chain & lock thru the wheel rim. I use the same chain & lock to secure it to a tie down loop in the Partrol. It's long enough (circa 1.5M) to go thru both handles & reach the 3rd row seat floor latch/loop.

I made up 1x9mt, 1x6mt and 3x3mt. I don't use the 9mt one much as that is for if I use my 120w ground level Solar Panel but with 450w sitting up on top of van I find I don't need the 120w these days. I just use whatever size suits the item being locked up.

Brickies Handles come off so easy is it worth it????
LIke most gennies the handles can be cut/removed in 3 minutes, but I concede it helps for opportunistics ie kids etc.
Leave secured in normal place is my recommendation.

I've never had fridge\freez outside in all the decades we been vanning.
Why tempt people. Mine's normally a freezer.
It always lives in Tray of ute.
Rear of Patrols and rear of earlier Nissan.
Just plugged into second battery. with a link cable from side of van to connection in veh to battery.
Later yrs utilise panel on tug roof.
My solar\power, in van and on ute have always been enough,
in last 15 yrs or so to cover it.
Jenny goes on ground. Use. in Ute under cover.
