Thanks jebs. It would be interesting to know the history and stories of these many old derelict houses that are around.
Cheers John.

Nice pic John. Looks like a cane field burning.

Doug, thanks. The rows of trees in the background behind the old house are gum and pine tree plantations. They are full height, which shows the size of the fire behind them.
Cheers, John.

Good shot - lots of interesting themes in the pic - which did you look at first? ( asking anyone here)

Good question Jules. What made me stop first was this old house and tree all by itself in this huge flat bare paddock. It being late afternoon I thought it might be interesting light for a photo, with the house in shadow verses the light from the sun on the smoke. Taken with the mobile phone.
Cheers, John

To answer Jules question. - the fire. As much as I'd like to look at the house and tree in depth, I cannot take my eyes from the fire, as in what if it comes my way and I need to get away.

You want to see fires lad.
Get up in the Territory and top of QLD Blackfella's KNOW how to control the land and which needs nitrogen.
They have some beautiful Burn offs up there and buggsr the white man.
We should let them do same down South. get rid of these Greenie idiots.
They'll burn off when it's right. and 4\5ths of these damaging bush fires won't occur.
Burn it young and regular. It don't have the fuel in them to do the damage.
Bloody white man and his idiot politicians. Don't have a speck of intelligence in their so called brains when it comes to most things.
All they see is what's going in their wallets.
