Camped at Copeton Dam (Eastern Shore) - near Inverell NSW - Yeoeleven (John) for those that know him - you can imagine how excited he was when this was on his line. He had put it out overnight with a bell on it - went to bed, never heard it ring. Luckily others camped nearby did, and pulled it in.
well done, good thing it is catch and release
must be cold there with the longjohns on

Lovely fish. The facial expression (not the fish) tells a story. 55 to 75 slot limit in NSW and no closed season in Copeton.

Tasted pretty good as well - cooked on the campfire - yummo!!! - And not to worry, you are allowed to take one to eat, I believe.

I would think that set up qualifies a " Set Line' these days and is a big No No. Rod must be within sight of owner , so if asleep in the van, that's " One eye open eh mate". Significant fine applies if caught. Now bring it on!!!!

Gday...
Congrats Yeoeleven (John) ... that smile on ya dial is nearly as big as that fish
Interestingly, the rules for freshwater fishing are worthwhile reading.
Craig seems to have some knowledge of this - (so advertising a catch might not be too wise praps) -
