I did get very hot under the collar when I did see the price of the Amarok-V6 Lucky I've got an 12 volt fan on my desk
Maybe the D-Max is not that bad after all

Hi All
We have now owned our 2014 Nissan Navara V6 YES I said V6 with 550 nm and 170 something kilowatts 60000 kilometres good 40000 of that towing all with a seven speed auto.
So whats new except its in a VW.
Biggest problem so far as with most of these so called utes is the soft suspension when you hang a caravan off the back.
Our Navara is very nice bit gear to own.

Yeah Flamin' car manufacturers they keep changing wot they give ya - V6 170Kw/550Nm is gone in current models
"Nissans new D23 Navara will feature a 3.5 tonne tow rating in top spec when it hits Australia early next year, along with a one-tonne payload capacity. It will also come with a new 2.3 litre twin-turbo diesel engine (in two states of tune), developed jointly under the Renault Nissan alliance. This new engine replaces the 2.5 litre and the top dog in the current range, the 550Nm 3.0 litre V6 diesel."
So, it wasn't included in the review of the 2016/2017 models, therefore it no longer "outshines" the Amarok

I put airbags in the back of my DMAX, AND THEY MADE A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE. Polyair red bags with springs inc, about $270 if I remember right. You can varie the hieght by puttting higher pressures, and they helpd with stability.Anyone with a little mech ability can fit them. Bill

6 to 7 weeks of yr on average. and maybe a skivvy at night for a couple of them.
Don't know how you lot survive down there.
My CAT slides under quilt on beds when temp drops below 24\25.
TD5 will leave all of them. with a chip and pipe.
Plus comfort and style.
Apparently the Navara AUTO is pretty thirsty (unless now fixed)
A good cure for that.
would be a Torque Converter Lock UP kit.
D-Max too. Mine likes it.
Those Amaroks finally have something other than a rubber band under their bonnet.
BUT they still don't have any reliability in their electronics I see.
The best donk in the world's no good if electrics have it ticking over hey.

I have one of those 2L Amaroks. Mine is an 8 speed automatic with no low range. We tow a camper trailer. When we plan a trip we intentionally try to find the more "interesting" tracks. Last year we went to Cape York. We did take the old telegraph track, but we also took the Frenchmans Track, east to west. This way you have to climb the very rocky exit from the Pascoe River. People going the other way told my Brother in law in front of us, you go first, you will need to winch tour friend up the rocks on the west side. WRONG! He did go first, and then watched as I drove my auto Amarok with the camper trailer, carefully up the rocky exit. Honestly, we were all very impressed.
I am 60 this year. Gees it feels good to drive a good vehicle and show these young blokes up.
