Before logging in to this forum today, my internet provider flashed a message that if I did so, my password may be stolen as the site was insecure. Comments please!!!

I believe it's because this site does not use the https protocol.
The latest version of Firefox has been flagging this issue with appropriate sites for a week or two.
Frankly, with this site it doesn't matter to me if my login is hacked. I only use a weak password here in any event. What's going to happen? Some spambot will make a post under my name urging you to buy their prowess increasing drug.
I don't have, and shall not, invest any sensitive data in this site so it really doesn't matter but if you have provided credit card details or the like you should probably be a touch concerned.
Ideally the owners should upgrade to a secure login.
Edit: But *always* keep in mind... the internet is not a secure place use it at your own risk.

Yes, John. I do use Firefox. To Mike, yes, I too never regard the internet as "secure secure". To Macka 17, have no idea what is a "decent AV" but will ask my clever son. He is sure to know. Thank you all for your replies.

PS.
Try Google chrome. leaves Firefox and Waterfox for dead.
plus much lighter in content.
I've used most over the yrs, It's my fav for about 5 yrs now.
A.V. = Anti Virus.(a defender).
Hopefully keeps the invaders out and the crap in.
Bitdefender is rated fairly high by most. and if it good for my bank.
it good enuff for me thank you.
Freebies ok' I did try them yrs ago. but. Basically
You gets what you pays for, hmmmmm.
paid. if something gets through. you got a comeback.
