Just curious if there are many lone travelers going through depression and how do you handle it.

is it medically diagnosed depression that you have. If it is, and you have seen a doctor, then ignore my comments. However, if you haven't then I recommend the following, based on personal experience.
I would recommend that you talk to a Dr. as soon as you can. They can help you to set up a plan to cope, that may include medication, counselling, and mental health plans.
I would NOT just listen to people off of a forum, as each persons trip through life is different, and depression (if that is the problem that you have) needs attention to ensure you have the best outcome.

I have done all that and still ongoing I try and take one day at a time not easy.

Although this is a good website to chill out on, as most of us are friendly and as helpful as we can be
I just hope that if I ever have any serious mental problems, that I would still be wise enough to go to a professional, to help me sort things out

Due to physical problems, and being unable to look after myself for a few years I can feel just a little of what people go through, while not being able to see the light at the end of their own tunnel

don't know how bad your depression is but when I had a mild case of it, the best thing that worked for me was bike riding.
I think any exercise helps with depression.
Also get help, get someone to talk about it.

I also suffer depression, anxiety etc. I'm not a solo traveler BUT know how personal depression is.

My shrink put me on pristiq, which works rather well. Some people cant handle it but thats a matter of how your body is set up and what other meds you take.
I find being alone and having "me time" works a treat. Now this sounds anti social and anti everything else, however I find that when Im ready to socialise I do.
The key is get some help. No shame in seeing a shrink or trickcyclist (psychologist) take on board ONLY the stuff you know will help you, try some others and hit the happy chord.
I sit, listen to music, read, write and just bum about. OH we travel a lot as well. Now that does work well.
Take care and keep a good eye on yourself. Each morning I ask myself "how do you feel today?" Its a good measure.
