I am of the belief that a single light bar is illegal in most States on front of vehicle - it must be divided into two lights. Single bar OK for roof mounted light.

With the longer bars, some people have got around the rule you by blanking out a few LED's in the centre with black tape or a plate of somekind. Legality of that however I think would depend on the mood of the copper issuing an infringement notice.
In Queensland though a single bar is permitted provided it's not mounted higher than the headlights, but preferably below the headlights. Ours is mounted mid way and I've never been questioned about it, with us they seem more curious with the motor.
With 14 hours of daylight each day to enjoy traveling we see no need to travel at night. We like to sleep when it's dark.

Each to there own . I don't live life by your standards . If I'm going to drive I want the best lights I can have. Day or night . It's not any bodies business what they do at night or daytime for that matter .

Exactly .. LED lights are the best I've fitted as long range is a bit useless on vehicle going at lower speed . We need a wide light to show side of road . More importantly to pull off where we can camp . Often there's no good spots till after dark.. main highways or national psrks in WA where your not supposed to camp overnight . I try to try find a place before 4pm . But as said not always possible . So many situations.. I have both spot lights and two LED lights each side . The spot lights are almost a wast of time . Should have purchased flood type .

I believe a good set of driving lights or a quality LED light bar essential for any sort of touring. We often travel in the evening and have found our Korr XDD 600 light bar to be amazing. It has a great spread and will light up quite a distance down the road, a brilliant bit of kit.
