Hi everyone, we're new to caravanning, and to this forum. Bought a 2014 LandCruiser in November and a 2004 23' Coromal Princeton last month. We've been away on alternate weekends so far - just returned from our third trip this morning. Ultimately we want to do the grand circuit, but Grumpy has 3 more years to retirement before we can start that.
We have a one stupid question... 'do you store the toilet capsule empty when the van is parked at home?' We had many more stupid questions on our first trip out, but have managed to bungle our way through until only that one remains lol
Many thanks,
Granny May & Grumpy

G'day Granny May & Grumpy, and welcome to the forum. Plenty of great advice and folks on here. Don't forget to try out the two games - Who is This in the I digress section and Pick ThisPlace in the general section. 'Pick this place' is a great way to find new places to explore.
Personally I reckon storing it clean and empty is the best bet.

Oh dear, I feel your pain. We've bent a jockey wheel and had to replace it. Probably cheaper than your mistake. I guess we all have to learn something the hard way :( And you're right, that one made him extra Grumpy lol. Thank you for the welcome, and I love your signature line.

Thank you very much for the welcome and the answer to our question Cadpete. It seems like a really friendly forum and I'm happy to have found it. And I will check out those games also.

Welcome to the gang Granny May & Grumpy, enjoy here and out in the playground.
If it was me, I would leave the toot clean and empty. I am a full time GN so mine doesn't get a chance to go dry
As for Woody, yep, he can be grumpy too He asked if my Uncle Al would like to spend some time down on the farm so I sent him packing real quick, now Woody wants to send him back BUT I have gone into hiding
How's the shed Woody mate
Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

Hope that I am not too late to also give you both a warm welcome Granny May
Look on the bright side, you have three years of making plans, which I, and I am sure many others, find enjoyable
To answer the question, (there is no such thing as a stupid question)
In between travelling, I give the toilet cassette a good rinse, and store it completely empty
I also leave it with the flap closed, and a bit of water in the bowl to act as a secondary seal
Hope that this info is useful to you

Thank you CC Bear. So far we have the water tanks empty, but are unsure if that's the right thing to do. So many questions to begin with.
