A Korean man who tried to cross a fast-flowing creek on the Darling Downs has spent 15 hours on the roof of a truck before being rescued by emergency services.
Authorities say the 47-year-old man tried to cross the flooded Leichhardt Highway just south of Condamine, about 330 kilometres north-west of Brisbane, when his removalist truck stalled late on Wednesday night.
motorists found the distressed driver on the roof of the vehicle on Thursday morning and called police.
"This is an example of why if it is flooded, motorists should absolutely forget it," "IDIOT" !!!

Gday...
just wondering ... why did the reporter need to state the nationality of the man (who just may have been an Australian citizen) ... it doesn't matter one iota??
I assume the last line of the posted 'news article' are the thoughts of KJ ?? .... nothing wrong with the comment because irrespective of what the nationality of the driver was - ANYONE who drives into floodwaters is somewhat lacking in intelligence.
Cheers - John

When I saw a photo, in our local paper, taken with the company name on the truck showing I couldn't help feeling for any people with furniture on the road with that company. I'm glad the driver is fine but what a sad state of affairs for whoever owns what's in the truck.

Come on, for a change, let us be realistic, you or I would not attempt to drive through water like this, but to call somebody who has probably never encountered something like this an "IDIOT" is probably a bit to harsh. As a matter of fact, it is very demeaning. It is probably unfair, and a better wording would have been "miss-guided". If you disagree with me, then vent your spleen, everyone else seems to on this forum. Feel free to attack me. I have very broad shoulders, but please, be nice about it and have a good day.

No I won't bother to reply to your question, it seems that you only posted it to start an unwanted debate which will probably end up being closed by the Administrator, !!!
