For years I have noticed these after-market plastic wind deflectors which people buy and attach to their driver's, and sometimes passenger's, windows. I assume they deflect the air so that you are not sitting in a gale if you have the window down.
Are they any good and worth spending around $100 on?

I have them on all windows of my Colorado and find they are great to have window open a couple of inches for air and if raining and air is needed. I tend to use mainly when Collie is stationary though.
YES they are worth it IMO.

I have them on all windows of my Patrol - they are normally less than $100 see; search.supercheapauto.com.au/search%20sheilds
They are great when it's raining to keep vehicle dry on the inside but allow air flow to stop windscreen fogging up. They certainly make driving with window down quieter and definitely more comfortable.

I have them on my Prado and they do make travelling with the windows down more comfortable. The bonnet deflectors also tend to minimise insect splats on the winsdscreen

G,day, There are two types, a narrow one which is only about 3inches (75mm) wide or a wider version that covers more of the window.
I,ve tried both, but prefer the bigger one. They are quieter when driving. not saying they are better, just that i prefer them.

I think they are worth it because you won't need to use your aircon as often.

Brilliant I have had them on all my cars
They keep the rain out while you are travelling with the window open
Not required on my campervan, as the bodywork overhangs the cabin doors

Have not seen them for years.........had some back in the early 70s and they were fantastic......worth it then and sounds like they are worth it now......

FYI possum3 and others if the windows are fogging up simply turn on the aircon "you can leave the heaters on " the air con will remove the moisture from the air inside the car and the window will un fog in no time

Yes well woth the cost. If you can get the larger ones then good, on hot days you can leave your windows down a bit and still be secure.

We recently bought a BA Falcon, nice car, that was until it rained, water just poured into the side front windows, even though the windows were only a quarter open.
Purchased a couple of weather shields from Supercheap, fixed the problem straight away, I can now drive in heavy rain with the windows almost all the way down,
Best things since cream in the coffee.

Great for all the reasons stated - whenever I have bought a new car (including this current one) I have asked them to throw in the plastic i.e. headlight and bonnet protector as well as the side weather shields and so far I have never failed to get them. This time they added the carpet mats and rear cargo protector lining - just depends on how much they want your business. I went back to the same dealer a few weeks later with my daughter to buy her car and they added all of the above and for being such valuable customers tinted her windows as well.

YES they are worth it IMO.
