There is a new concrete bridge over the Dawson River at Baralaba to overcome flooding.
Once over the bridge you can turn right onto a recently sealed road, past the Baralaba Coal Mine, then follow the Dawson River north to meet with the Capricorn Highway, 19 klms east of Duaringa, or turn left, drive past the entrance to the golf club, then be amazed at the 3 lane, sealed, straight new road to Woorabinda entrance. Turn right here for another sealed 3 lane straight drive to Duaringa.
Many roads throughout central Qld have been improved, to meet the requirements of the many Coal Mines.
Also the road from Eidsvold on Country Way, thru Cracow, free camping, to Theodore is another wide, straightened sealed road.
Hope this is of assistance

Baralaba is located on the Dawson River in Central Qld.
From the south, turn north west at Banana at the junction of the Leichhardt & Dawson Highways.
Mt Ramsay is a worthwhile climb with 360 degs of the surrounding region, en route.
It is an ideal stopover or winter retreat with northerly access to Duaringa via Woorabinda or follow the Dawson River
As with any showgrounds, there is plenty of space. Sites have concrete slabs. A caretaker on site & adequate amenities including dump point
