Congratulation on reaching 500 posts Ron, your doing fine, keep up the good work.
Don't lose any sleep about what others say, sniping takes many different forms, the comment you refer to is just one of them.

Grow a thick skin mate. and a permanent chuckle.
Mine's near 6in thick at present and growing thicker by the day.
And I ALWAYS smile. Regardless.
Half the fun is stirring the weird ones.

A robust debate is one thing, whilst personal attacks with comments like "brain dead" etc. are indeed a time to reflect "chilling out."
Incidentally, I never named anyone or directed my comments to any one individual.
As mentioned by others, there is a small element in the forum that would pass the description, if the cap fits wear it.
Over the years a few good forums have been ruined by personal attacks instead of intelligent, robust debate.
If you don't like someones opinion, agree to disagree or just plain ignore it.

Consequently any one of the 10,000+ members could have thought the comments were aimed at them

Correct, as I said:- "If the cap fits wear it."
Bullying, and lets face it, that's what a personal attack should not be tolerated.

My mum would always say "stick and stones may break your bones but names will never hurt you". A philosophy I still abide by. My view is bullying is physical assault anything else you can turn off.
There are posters on forums I just don't read.
Have a good day, I will.
