I'll be having some surgery on my right eye on Monday in Adelaide. Seems the vitreous humour has partly detatch from the retina and has to be removed and replaced with a sort of saline solution. They're also removing a cataract as it would have had to be done within the next six to 12 months anyway. I've always been a bit paranoid about having anything done to my eyes but surprisingly I'm not particularly worried, maybe because I've already survived a heart bypass and hip replacement. Another reminder - if I needed any - that I'm getting older. All going well it will be just a small hiccup in my Big Lap adventure.

Surgeon is happy with the outcome, which makes me happy as well! Sight still a bit blurry but already improving from when the bandage was removed this morning. Will take a few days for things to settle down which is only to be expected. Thanks to Kath and Jules for your good wishes.

Glad it all went well Joe. Hope you'll be seeing well soon. I had appointment yesterday with eye specialist & unfortunately macula degeneration has returned & so I will be having another series of injections in my left eye (probably 3 each a month apart) starting 6/3. . Had 6 injections last year & they did give me a break of 4 1/2 months. Cheers Alice

Wow Alice, you're getting to be an old hand at this - your eye must feel like a pin cushion. Hope it all goes well.
