Been reading the forums for a long time now and have been picking up lots of hints and tips, so I am throwing my hat into the ring.
THANKS ALL OF YOU...seems like I know most of you He He He
We bought our little girl... Jayco Destiny 06 and tug Triton 09 as a complete set just before Christmas 2015 after we had a call from some friends who are avid 'vanners telling us their neighbor was selling it after her husband died...Agent Orange got him in the end.
On inspection it was immaculate and had been kept under cover since new (even had the plastic covers still on the carpet). She had only done 1 trip to the Alice and back to Perth
The only prob was...I needed something to tow it with.
Well to my surprise up went the garage door and sitting there was this gleaming Triton with only 125,000km on the clock.
The lady inquiringly said "Interested ??"
Well, is the pope a Catholic....or what ?
I got the lot for $24K which I think was a good price (thought about paying her in $5.00 notes but she would still be counting them).
Anyway when we get back from Singapore in May we will be off on our first venture with our good friends overseeing the trip so we can learn the practical way.
Looking forward to it...catch ya later
Ya haven't heard the last of us

Hi Des, Welcome to the forum. Enjoy travelling in your rig and tug. I think you did very well to get the lot for $24K as 06 Destinys on Ebay are that price without the tug. Cheers.

G'day Des & Jane and welcome to the forum. Plenty of great advice and folks on here. Don't forget to try out the two games - Who is This in the I digress section and Pick ThisPlace in the general section. 'Pick this place' is a great way to find new places to explore. Thought I welcomed you yesterday but can't see it here so tried again.

Well we just couldn't wait to take her for a spin
So we nervously hitched her up for the first time and had the local caravan guy check to make sure we had done it right.
"All good, well done" he said...Phew!!
I said to Jane "that's it were off"....."where too" she said
Pinjarra, about 50km down the road and off we went.
Towed like a dream, and I could feel the confidence building. as we were nervous being the first time.
When we arrived we parked right next to the river, tried to put the kettle on the stove for a cuppa but it would not light and I thought Bugger !!! And then it dawned on me that I had not turned the gas on . The things you learn LOL.
Had a great day out and all the tensions that had built up just melted away.
We are now official grey nomads........

Well done Des and Jane. May I suggest you now move to another section of the forum as you are now "official grey nomads" and have introduced yourselves.
It's agreat feeling when you finally get out in the playground with your new aluminium tent and I tell you that for free. I have a aluminium tee pee.
Keep Safe on the roads and out there.
