How many cpap users use the humidifier, and when they use it, heat, cold, humid conditions?

I use humidifier all the time but that could be because I don't want to fiddle around to pull it all apart depending on climatic conditions. I'm a bit miffed that masks don't last long. I just had to buy a new one because of a small split in the surrounds of the other one. I was told 12 months is about normal. At over $200 you would think they would last longer. Alice

Thanks Alice, my Philips Respironics can be set to humidifier on/off by the knob that sets the machine going. That knob also controls the amount of heat.
Yes re the masks. I have 2 sets of straps and change them over weekly. I get my CPAP gear from the US.

My new mask is a Phillips & very minimal & comfortable. Never thought of looking at USA gear. I will be in Los Angeles on 12/5 but arriving there by cruise liner & leaving the same day back to Oz on Qantas. No time to shop but I suppose I should look on the net. Cheers Alice
