I will only stop travelling when its all been seen
Travelling the highways and byways and the rugged outback
Forever going forward and never looking back
Camping by inland rivers boiling the billy for a cuppa tea
From the east coast to the west coast that's where you'll find me
I care little for the big cities as I pass them right by
I much prefer the outback where you can see the night sky
Camped by a billabong or down by the sea
That my friend is where I will be
The peacefulness the serenity of just sitting on a rock
Or looking over farmland as the farmer tends his stock
Watching a lone fisherman cast his line a way out
As the rod gets a tug he lets out a muffled shout
To travel along only on the never ending black top
That's not for me because I would much rather stop
At the out of the way places where men seldom tread
As the sun sets in the west just sipping a good red
Under a gum tree or beside a babbling brook
I could be anywhere you just have to look
Stopped by the wayside smelling a wildflower
My life my terms...........now THAT is REAL POWER

thanks radar. You are more than welcome to print a copy. I enjoy dabbling in writing poetry but not good enough to claim copyright royalties. lol

Right to the heart it's what I have been doing for the past 10+yrs. My saying is there's no pockets in a coffin so enjoy it while you can as you never know when old Nick is going to close your book.

Thanks for the positive feedback. If I've made someone happy or smile with my words then I've done what I set out to do.
Aus-Kiwi - yes, there's power and then there is REAL power. Sorry to all the "techies" that I misled.

Nice work Ray! Now all you need is a gee-tar and a tune to put those heartfelt lines to, and you could become a real entertainer, make a few bob on the road! I like!
Standing here all alone out in the country air
Some may find the life lonely but I don't care
I enjoy my own company and do what I will
Not until I am dead will I then lay still
Everywhere a new adventure every week a new spot
This country of ours it has got the lot
From cities to towns and everywhere in between
I will only stop travelling when its all been seen
Travelling the highways and byways and the rugged outback
Forever going forward and never looking back
Camping by inland rivers boiling the billy for a cuppa tea
