Our Navman drives us crazy so thinking of getting a Hema for our trip around Australia - has anyone some insight into the new Hema HX1 compared to the HN7 ?
Also considering a personal locator beacum (PLB) for a bit of peace of mind - any ideas would be welcome.

gazbee, have you looked at the comparison on their website
We have a HN6 which we mainly use in 4WD mode and find it extremely useful, especially for those secret campsites you find with the help of the tracks it lists
We only use the street navigation if we have to, still prefer a street directory around town

Hi Gazbee, used my HX-1 yesterday for a trip, was very happy with it in the explore mode, even the drive mode has a lot more info than a Navman, also have just purchased a KTI PLB, (Australian company) 10 year battery life, is tiny, less than a cigarette packet size, comes with extras, worthwhile piece of gear, hope this helps...

thanks for that , the HX1 seems to have more ticks - my concern is being a new platform whether it performs well or has issues .
always say if the old one works why update

I have heard the HX1 has no reverse camera input, so if that's important to you, it could be HN7 for you.
I'm think the newer one has more features though!
I have the HN7, and it has been excellent SO FAR...
