trying to get an idea of what we might do this year travel wise in the van. I often find we arrive in a town and find there was a rodeo or music festival or market on last week or next week but not when we are there. Does anyone know if there is a site that gives this information .

Showgrounds in all the different states, usually put out what is happening in their grounds throughout the year - not sure there may be a special app for it - I'd be googling - Australian Festivals as well as Markets in an area you are going to - Visitors centres are usually a wealth of info for all over the country.
Good luck and travel more.

Try Mr Google:- Festivals in Australia 2017.
Depending on your location and what takes your interest here is a couple:- The Man from Snowy River Bush Festival, Stone the Crows Festival Wagga, Folk Festival Canberra and you will find several Rodeo's happening at this time of the year.
We follow the cycling and are currently in Adelaide for the "Tour Down Under'. Todays stage started at Unley with temps of 41/42. Watched the start and then headed to the Van for aircon and watch the event on TV.We will move to Geelong next week for more Cycling (Cadel Evans Ride) on the Bellarine Coast.
You will find other forum members will high light events happening in their area during the year and post the details for members as the year progresses.

Qld Tourism has a year by year booklet available at most Info Centres of Queensland festivals and events. Not sure about other states.

Keith and Judy you sound like my husband , he gets very excited to see the sign saying the market was on last week. I just occasionally like to see something different . Thanks for all the answers. We live in Lyndoch where the Tour Down Under was yesterday, second year running of 42 degrees but was good for the town .

We like to visit & spend our cash in the same towns but off festival peak. Each to their own we reckon. We're not anti social, just like the quiet life most of the time.
As a matter of interest why don't people post live links, not difficult and makes life a lot easier for those that are interested.
You must be having problems with your computer? We've noticed that you've posted a ''live link'' on different threads when there's already a ''live link'' posted on it. Take this on for instance , the link above works fine.

Interesting, thanks for alerting me to the fact, first time anyone has mentioned it to me.
