Either in the car while driving or whenever the sun is out (solar/battery) while camped.

During the day while the solar Panels are doing their thing and anything else that needs charging, leaving the batteries for any night use. I free/alternarive camp most of the time.

Whenever I feel it's getting too low in power. 3 or 4 times a day depending on how much I've used it.

we would charge everything when we have the generator running or if we are travelling we have a charger that plugs into the cigarette lighter

We charge direct off any 12v power . Driving ? Off motor batteries . Camped or parked off 12v house battery . No point I connecting through inverter . I find we go through leads !! Found they last much longer if you put some light heat shrink over the last 80mm / 3" of cord to prevent twisting & breaking wires . They tend to stuff up when you can't get to buy new ones !

Yea we have grand kids charge their iPads etc one cord can be used 10 times a day !! Plus I'm not sure some protective covers don't help with angle to connector ?
