Hi everybody, We have just heard from 60 Minutes who are looking for grey nomads to help out with a story that Charles Wooley will be putting together for the show. All the details are posted below. Hopefully, some of you might be interested. Look forward to seeing you on TV! Cindy
Jo Townsend here from 60 Minutes. Charles Wooley (our oldest employee!) and I are currently producing a story on the retirement age and we're looking for a few people to be our on-camera interviewees;
1. A very happily retired - super outspoken! - grey nomad couple both aged 65+, currently grey nomad-ing around Australia. You'll need to both have really strong opinions you'd like to voice on behalf of your fellow retirees - on Australia raising the retirement age, the current predicted retirement 'tsunami', our Super system, and the idea of 'working til you drop'.
Extra points for anything interesting or out of the box you do we can film - fishing, bush poetry, boxing, yoga, grandad jokes, tap dancing, I'm all ears! We're trying to avoid the TV stereotypes of the older Aussies (who always seem to be playing lawn bowls and sitting in nursing homes on TV stories about retirees ... why we don’t know!)
Filming will take place in the next 4-6 weeks at a mutually suitable time, and we can get to you anywhere in Australia, no matter how remote.
2. An older worker (aged 70+ but extra points for 75+!) currently in paid part or full-time work anywhere in Australia, the more interesting/visually interesting the job, the better!
If you're interested in participating, please send a short message about yourselves, include a pic (just an iPhone snap will do, it is not for broadcast just to help us put faces to names!) to jtownsend@nine.com.au and we will get back to everybody that responds before Tuesday 17 Jan.
Come on Macka do it for QUEENSLAND. They would turn it into a series that would definitely get you a gold Logie. Then there is all the bling..... and glamour..... from the Queensland Government when we get the huge influx of visitors spending there hard earned southern dollars in Utopia. I can see the Premier now standing next to you and shouting the LNP slogan JOBS AND GROWTH....... Who knows we may even see you with a Media union card. NAH......... just joking we dont want to share you. Youre a Queenslander and God loves ya Hey.
Moorey ....

I'd love to.
Just for the "stir".
But at present.
Floating on extra pills counting down till 29th Jan
when I go down Brissie and get. Spinal electronic pulsing thingy.
inserted into my spinal chord\Neck
with power pack INSIDE hip
and TV controller to control How high I jump when I boost it (chuckle)
Latest US\German version. Double the output pulses as older styles.
Gets good reviews.
Seems to negate all or 98% of the older lower output versions negative reviews.
Plus. MY 10 day trial down in Brissie b4 Chrissy.
= NO. Zero. Nada. Pain.
First time in 26 yrs.
If I have any breaks in skin or infections.
No can do as going into\around spinal chord.
I have to have "virgins" skin for this one.
No chances being taken. Even cat not allowed to knead dad at night.
Tell 'em to come back 3 months after 30 Jan. THEN I'll be all for it.
Near immobile till then.
Damn. That's gonna be the hard part.
But talking to a coupleof who have it.
Worth every second.

6o minutes! dodgy, sensationalist reporting, masters of the out of context quote and checkbook journalism, have we forgotten the Tara Brown saga in Beirut.
Appear on the show at your own risk, can almost guarantee you will be misquoted.

Hi Santa, 100% with you on those comments. Just a bunch of disrespectful grubs and very typical of all media. TV for the dull and feeble minded.

Gday...
Cindy, thanks for passing on their request for 'interviewees'.
However, given the 'grey nomads' they are seeking to fill their 'criteria' they obviously have a 'pitch' they are pursuing.
Having had experience with being interviewed by 60 Minutes in another life, I would suggest that anyone who feels the inclination to participate -
ensure you are fully aware of the 'theme' of the segment;
ensure you are given the right to view and accept or reject the 'to air' edited version of your interview;
take along your own video recorder and record the interview IN FULL live while they are conducting the interview.
Apart from all that cynicism, if you participate - enjoy yourself.
Cheers - John

To get an idea of the type of piece we are doing, I produced this story on Superannuation last year for the program, and this upcoming feature will be along the same lines: https://www.9now.com.au/60-minutes/2016/clip-ciqggj3rr00180insqoi6hhhl
With thanks, Jo.
Hope 'Macka' applies!!

2nd that
Will it require participation in anything similar to what happened in the Middle East. Personally, I would not touch them with a ten foot pole.
