I am hoping to get a meet up for Solo's towards the middle of February at Rapid Bay - South Coast SA.
Lovely spot, right on Beach. $7 per night, has clean toilets and bbq's. Nice beach for walking, small Jetty for fishing or squidding.
Of course, anyone welcome, just thought we could maybe put some faces to names.
This is very close to to the Ferry for Kangaroo Island, so would give you a chance to go there if interested.
Close to small towns of Normanville and Yankalilla (well not so small anymore).
Anyone interested??

Yea Beautiful place and good fishing for Kings Yrs ago.
But living Central QLD nowadays.
Go in the cave at Northern end and see if you can still get right through and back out higher up.
Need to be skinny.
We used to fish, Full squid. for huge Kingy's from shelf. further North and round corner (45yrs ago)
and off the T head of old jetty.
Now defunct I believe?.
We'd load Penns with 600 spool of cheap Woolies 50lb,
Hit the fish when it took the squid. Those things were 6 to 7 ft long, seriously.
Then just hang on to fully flexed roller rod with mate cooling reel with bucket of water.
Till it stripped full line without even slowing down.
Magic.
Fun only. but wasteful looking back now.
Serious fishing.
We did in boats and let them drag us round for a while to tire a bit.
Bafore we got serious.
Enjoy it there.
We were there in frame tent when the storms relating to Tracey in Darwin came through.
Quite a few damaged.

I expect to be entering SA via Renmark towards the end of January so it's possible I could be there around that time.
Cheers

Hehe, how have you been doing that?
I'm not sure about adventurous lol. It's very peaceful though. I hope to be out here for as long as possible, water withstanding. Doing ok....using 2.6 litres a day on average for washing and dishes etc. I'll have a hair wash coming up though, so that might chew through a bit .
It'll be good to meet you and others too if I make it down there in time. I never see a soul out here lol. I have a Maggie for a mate ATM and I'll probably have to leave him today. That'll be sad.

Haha - ok....it's just I used to do a FB thing but I don't get on there anymore because it takes way too much data - just thought someone might of hijacked it, because I haven't used it in years.
I've been reading all the serial killer stuff since he got caught (great thing to do when you're sitting deep in the bush by yourself lol), and it's surprising what people can glean from your online footprint. People have been able to dissect every bit of his former life just by being online.

I think I would be a contender, what dates have you in mind, because my calendar says that all I have to do is get there on the dates!

I'm thinking around 20th February, can still be hot though. On the beach though should be a nice cool breeze.
Bring your fishing gear and catch some King George Whiting - Yum.
As stated - No power, poor phone reception, $7.00 per night, clean toilets, lots of space and hopefully no kids screaming.
There is a small store around 2 klms away for ice and general goods.
Does this suit everyone else?

I'm still slowly motoring along - so I'll just keep it in my sights. I don't have any firm plan....just heading in the general direction at this point.
