Hi John,
not sure what you need out of a GPS Tracker, but if it's so that your friends and family can follow you then take a look at the
"Spot Gen 3 Personal Tracker".
P.S. can also be used in an emergency as a locator and and I think to send short messages.

If it's for tracking your van if stolen, then you could simply buy a real cheap prepaid android phone, download a free app such as Realtime GPS Tracker and buy a 2 year Telstra data pack for $140, then hide the phone somewhere in the van with a permanent 12v supply to keep it charged.
Using any other device, you can then track the whereabouts of the van, providing it is in mobile range - which is why I suggest using a Telstra data pack. The other thing is, all of your friends and relatives to whom you give the link, can follow you on your travels so they know exactly where you are and where you've been.
I've been using that GPS tracker on my phone for a few years now as we travel and the kids love it, they can follow us around and see what we're up to.

Second the "spot".
I had an early one installed. we had a few problems.
The latest generation is fine though.
One mate runs fleet of Ute's, delivery. Swears by them.
Knows where every one is all the time.
Pisses some of the drivers off though chuckle.
Another Mate has one installed in his car which son borrows occasionally without asking.
My idea
When it happens. he rings me. we go round there. collect car and leave kid stranded wherever.
ALSO My idea.
was 45km's from home last time in pissin' rain. Great.
He obviously had another key made.
Me. I'd just put a keypad on external garage door Keep the brat out
34 and still sucking off parents, stupid wrapped around finger mum.
I'd kick them both out, she keeps him broke.
72 and still having to work.
Hope everybody had a great chrissy.
We got thunderstorms and some good rain earier.
Some more coming.
Magic. I'm refilling pool.
