Much of a muchness Strop.
I'm with Brickies , bite th bullet & put up with a bit of traffic , pretty well from now for a couple of weeks,
traffic will have eased . Straight down th hwy over th bridge onto logan motorway & up Cunninghams gap.
Have a SAFE one & watch out for th once a year wobblies . Seems someone opened th gate.

Google Maps says via Gatton Gap is shorter and quicker and shorter. Bing Maps says via BNE is the shorter/quicker route.
I would go via Gatton - no tolls.

I live in the area you do not have to use the toll ways if you don't want to .

Snip ... "Woodford, Esk, Ipswich, Kalbar, Warwick" (except that you don't go into Kalbar. Just keep on the Cunningham Highway. In fact I think that you can bypass Ipswich by going straight across to Amberley from the Esk turnoff on the road from Esk/Toowoomba/Ipswich)

Precisely, the travel planners use the toll roads for their shortest distance/times. If you modify a route to dodge the tolls you will extend the distance/time of that route considerably (particularly the time bit.) That's why I keep out of BNE if I can.
