Good morning to all ,
Does anyone know what are the laws regarding the use of a UHF radio while driving? As we are all aware Mobile phones are banned unless "Hands Free" but UHF are not hands Free.
Can not find anything on Google about it.
Thank you
Merry Christmas and Happy & Safe New Year to all

Gday...
Some info -
Victoria - http://www.keepyoureyesontheroad.org.au/pages/VIC-laws
Snipped from that site -
NSW - http://www.keepyoureyesontheroad.org.au/pages/NSW-laws
QLD - http://www.keepyoureyesontheroad.org.au/pages/QLD-laws
SA - http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/legis/sa/consol_reg/arr210/s300.html
WA - http://www.keepyoureyesontheroad.org.au/pages/WA-laws
So I guess it is OK pretty much throughout Straya to use a CB while driving.
Cheers - John
Just as a gentle reminder to anyone who is not awareChannel 5 and 35 are not to be used, except as an emergency channelHope that I am not trying to teach experienced UHF people how to suck eggs
Thanks for that info Mez, It may be useful to others in the futureBelow is a snip of the channels and their useNote that it is a very hefty fine for misusing channel 5 / 35 and/or interfering with the emergency people using those channels

I've downloaded and laminated a spreadsheet from this website and keep it in the car at all time - search UFH Cheat Sheet at :
www.withoutahitch.com.au/
As we are new to UHF in Australia it helps.
Cheers
