Good read ... but I wonder whether your comment on "how little money you require, to enjoy travelling" ... some of those jobs/careers he gained have a pretty good pay rate. They certainly would have financed his further journeys for a fair while.
No different to us poor old pharts retire, hit the road, do a few jobs, move on and spend the money, a piddly job again, move on etc etc.
It is a GOOD life for sure. I thoroughly recommend it.
Cheers - John

A few weeks ago I was having trouble getting to sleep so I started counting (not sheep) but the countries of the world I have visited. Got to 60 & hadn't finished. So glad to have done this plus seen such a lot of Oz. Travelling is my forte but maybe medical problems are going to cause my passport to sit around idly for a while. Oh well. I've had a great time. Cheers Alice

Hello kandagal (Alice) Hope that I am not overstepping the line, or being too informal
After reading some of your posts, you strike me as a very determined Lady
Having had a few medical setbacks in the past, I can feel perhaps just a little bit, of what you have been through
I wish you all the best in your medical battles, and sincerely hope that you have many more opportunities to either use your passport, or see more of Oz
I can only say that I just wish that I was that brave
Enjoy the article, and see just how little cash you require, to enjoy travelling
